In 1984, the year when Electronics City campus was launched, the term Mechatronics was virtually unheard in the Indian industrial landscape. Dr. Reguraj saw the convergence of mechanical and electronics engineering long before the market did.
- Bold Pivot: Facing a market unready for the terminology, Mechatronics, he strategically renamed the course to Electronics. - Computer-related programs Notwithstanding internal scepticism and to ensure student employability, all while keeping the core interdisciplinary curriculum intact, he launched Computer and IT related programs outside the main campuses.
