Macaulay’s Speech – The Devil’s Advocate

Macaulay’s “Purported” Speech in British Parliament

Very true that it is best to hit at the root of any culture to break a Nation (reason why many regime like China has never allowed Research and Articles written by foreigners to find free access to their citizens in the nation). It is also true that many of theories was propounded to run down Bharateeya culture (like the mythical Aryan Invasion and those deriding our customs and practices) and further propagated by Communist and left liberals inspired JNU historians.

I also agree with what Macaulay is supposed to have said in the British Parliament, that India’s richness and strength is its culture, and going by what JNU educated Historians are doing to the nation since independence, it also validates the strategy of how to break the backbone of the nation.

Now to some home-truths –

  • “So-called” Speech began to circulate post-1998.
  • Every single speech made in Britain (and its colonies) are recorded Verbatim in Hansards. This speech has no mention in the records that is publicly available
  • Macaulay on the date he is supposed to have addressed the British Parliament was in India. He left Britain in 1934 and got back only in 1938 (Remember it was not the age of Boeing or Airbus, they had to travel by ship)
  • Other recordings in Hansard of that period, is far more classical English and Macaulay’s language  appears Neo-age English

Look at the striking similarities with another quote attributed to Henry Kissinger (a debate is on on the veracity of this too) at the time of the Turkish invasion in Cyprus, while addressing a group of Washington, D.C. businessmen in Sept.1974:

“The Greek people are anarchic and difficult to tame. For this reason we must strike deep into their cultural roots: Perhaps then we can force them to conform. I mean, of course, to strike at their language, their religion, their cultural and historical reserves, so that we can neutralize their ability to develop, to distinguish themselves, or to prevail. Thereby removing them as an obstacle to our strategically vital plans in the Balkans, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East, to all this neuralgic territory of great strategic importance for us, for the politics of the USA.”

With my limited research (all of it predominantly online) I can almost safely conclude that this “purported” speech never happened, was planted by these very Historians (and enemies of Bharateeyata) with an ulterior motive. An earnest plea not to fall for this. Mark my words, the discourse would now change to branding all of us all as the ones distorting History and spreading falsehoods.
